5 Books That...Shaped My Coaching Work
Welcome to the new '5 Books That...' series! Here I'll share 5 curated and vetted books - ones that I personally recommend - all focusing on one specific life/work topic.
Welcome to the first installment of a new series I’m calling ‘5 Books That…’, where I’ll share - you guessed it - 5 books, all focused on one particular aspect of work and/or life. Once a month or so, I’ll provide overviews of the five books I personally recommend on a certain topic like confidence, communication, mindset, meaningful work, values-based activism, positive psychology, and more. I love doing my monthly wrap-ups covering all the various books I read and I plan to continue those as well; however if you are a fan of a curated and vetted list of recommended books on a specific work/life topic, this series is designed with you in mind!
And in honor of International Coaching Week, I’ve decided to kick off the series with five books that have impacted my coaching work and helped shape my professional coaching business. If you’re new to me and my work, I am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and have owned my coaching + training firm for over 22 years now. This article could have easily been titled ‘25 Books That…’ - but narrowing these subjects down to five stellar reads is going to be a fun challenge for me, and one I am definitely excited about!
Whether you’re a coach yourself or potentially interested in becoming a coach; a leader, manager, or professional looking for ways to ask powerful questions and have forward-moving conversations; or someone dedicated to developing others, helping them flourish and experience their highest potential, there’s something for you in this stack. I invite you to add your suggested titles in the comments below too, as well as any topics you’d like to see addressed in a future ‘5 Books That…’ article.
Let’s dive into our inaugural post of the series!
