Have you read those two as well, Katie? I am always thankful for the Women's Prize lists for introducing me to at least one new favorite (and often more), and I definitely believe Raising Hare will be on my top ten list at the end of the year. I hope May brings you some excellent books!
I'm so glad you've continued to work your way through Abdurraqib's catalog! The Reading List has been on my list for awhile, I always enjoy a book celebrating books/libraries/readers!
I'm enjoying his work so much! I'm just continually impressed with his perspective, approach, and the way he chooses/crafts his words. Have you read There's Always This Year yet? I have the print copy ready and am just waiting for my hold on the audio to come through so I can enjoy both options (he's such a great narrator as well!).
I'm glad you enjoyed The Reading List - it seems to have struck a chord with quite a few readers! I didn't realize she had a new novel out. What do you think of it so far (if you've started it)?
The only one I've read from that bunch is The Reading List, which I loved. I also have Friss’ The Bookshop on my TBR shelf. I saw him speak at the Tucson book festival last month.
I've heard such good things about the Tucson book festival! Was this your first year attending? I've been making note of book festivals around the country and would love to experience a few each year!
Great month! Love seeing readers enjoy The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians and Raising Hare as well.

I have! Secret Lives made my best of list for 2024 and Raising Hare was a 1st Q favorite. We've got great taste.
Ha - we sure do! :-) Already excited to see what we find as favorites in Q2!

I liked The Read List too, and just picked up Sara Nisha Adams' new novel.

I haven’t started it yet but today is “new book day” (I finished my last one yesterday) so you’ve made my choice easy! I’ll report back!
Oooh, I love new book day! :-) Yes, please do report back - I'd love to know what you think. Happy reading!

It was fabulous! A little overwhelming at first because it's SO big. But I had a blast and would go again. Here are a few pics: https://www.instagram.com/pixie.hallows/reel/DHTgzjyJWl7/
It looks and sounds so great! I'm glad you had such an excellent time!
