I enjoyed June Farrow as well, and just picked up The Bookshop after hearing Evan Friss at the Tucson Book Festival last weekend. I'm excited to read it... but my TBR is getting pretty hefty, so not sure when exactly that will happen.

My favorite March read so far was probably Marmee by Sarah Miller, with Other Words for Home (middle grade book in verse) by Jasmine Warga being a close second.

I definitely understand the hefty TBR issue! :-) I hope you enjoy The Bookshop when you get to it. In the meantime, I bet that gorgeous cover looks lovely on your bookshelf!

Oh, yes! Other Words for Home! I read that a few years ago and it made my top ten fiction list that year. I really do need to read middle grade more often!

I hope the book festival was delightful!

I'm in Tucson too, currently. Sadly, I missed the book festival this year. Last year's was great!

I just checked out the website and it looks like quite an extensive author lineup! Does the festival take place every year? I hope you're able to get there next time, Patricia - I need to see if I can get there, too!

I loved June Farrow and particularly love time travel motherhood stories.

Oooh, that's an interesting focus, Katie - do you have any motherhood/time travel recommendations? I kind of have to remind myself with each time travel story to not think so hard/try to figure it all out - and once I do that, I usually end up really enjoying them, too. *Writing* one would be quite an experience!

You definitely have to give yourself over to the story when magical realism is used but I think its a beautiful way to explore some deeper topics. I particularly enjoyed The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain. It was a huge hit with my irl book club as well.

I haven't read The Dream Daughter but have loved several other Diane Chamberlain books, so I bet it will work well for me, too. Thank you for the rec!

What a kind comment, Anton - thank you! I could ramble on and on about so many of these books, so I have to work to be succinct. :-) Have you read any books lately that really stood out for you?

I’ll try June Farrow but next on my list is The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I am not a Time Traveler’s Wife fan . I just read The Women by Kristen Hannah, I decided to listen to it and read it as much as I could . Julia Whalen did such a good job with the narration audiobook that I decided to give time travel another try, she narrates Addie LaRue as well. The Women was well done and I didn’t expect to like it . I fell in love with Elizabeth Taylor’s Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont . I think I’m going to read everything she ever wrote and added a lot more English classics to my TBR list. Great article!

How fun to find an author who makes you want to read everything they've written! I love that experience - especially when they have an extensive backlist to choose from.

I hope you enjoy Addie LaRue! I read it a few years back and that was my first exposure to V.E. Schwab's writing. I need to pick up some more (speaking of extensive backlists!).

Sounds like a great reading month, Chrissy - thanks for sharing!

That can be such a bummer to get into a series and then have it go down a path you don't want to follow! It sounds like, other than that, you've had a good reading month, too. I just peeked at The Adobe Castle and wow, what a cover - I hope you continue enjoying it!
